The common responsibilities for this position include maintaining and updating QS records, site documents, filing, and drawings. Carrying out measurements for ordering, subletting, variation estimates, and final accounts is essential. Evaluating Sub-Contractor interim payments, notifying and contra charging Sub-Contractor payments, and checking and verifying Sub-Contractors' daywork are key tasks. The role also involves preparing and maintaining records and photos of variation works and abortive works, as well as assisting in the preparation of interim payment applications. Additionally, providing general assistance to the Quantity Surveying team for pre and post-contract work, handling tender analysis, bidding, tender documents administration, material taking off and pricing, measurement of works, and valuation of variations are required. Responsibilities further include preparing cost estimations, certifying payments and variations, and final account settlements. Liaising with contractors and specialist suppliers, attending site inspections, visits, site meetings, and tender interviews, and developing basic Quantity Surveying skills and experience are also part of the role. Lastly, the administration of main contracts and subcontracts, cost estimation, cost control and budgeting, material procurement, and handling contractual claims and subcontractors’ claims for construction projects are expected.
